Tasting Notes from Robert Whitaker

The Brut Mosaique is a dry floral champagne, ideal as an aperitif, and with a high proportion of Chardonnay in the blend for added fruitiness.

Jacquart also produce an exceptional vintage Blanc de Blancs style made solely from Chardonnay grapes. This distinctive champagne exudes aromas of honey and hazelnut giving way to white fruit flavours on the taste. Always a single vintage wine and one of the best value wines in its category..

Jacquart is deservedly famous in France for its delicate Brut Mosaique Rosé style dominated by the fresh flavours and aromas of the Chardonnay grape. The subtle salmon pink colour derives from the traditional method of adding just the right amount of pinot noir red wine to the white wine prior to inducing the natural sparkle, which turns it into champagne.

Jacquart Brut Mosaique Vintage is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir using only wines from the finest, most carefully chosen vineyards. A harmonious cuvée with a rounded, flavoursome style and good ageing potential. The nose is floral which is reinforced on the palate with a long fruity finish with floral and spicy notes.

Jacquart Brut de Nominée is a powerful and beautifully balanced Champagne made from grapes harvested from some of the best vineyards and blended from two outstanding vintages. Its freshness makes it a wonderful aperitif and yet it has sufficient body to complement fish, poultry and veal dishes.

Extra Brut is a new addition to the Jacquart range and available in limited quantities in the best restaurants and wine merchants. It is a very dry champagne, aged for over five years for additional complexity and character.
