Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky

... is unique in the worlds of whiskies, being the only whisky to be produced in Wales.

Robert Whitaker is the ambassador for Penderyn in the London area, focusing on achieving listings in the finest bars, hotels and restaurants in the capital, through his personal contacts in the catering trade.

The Welsh Whisky Company was established in 1998 and is the first whisky distillery in Wales for over 100 years. The distillery is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in a small village of the same name. It sits above an underground lake of the purest water which is drawn directly into the distillery for making Penderyn.

The use of US Bourbon casks and Malmsey Madeira casks for maturation contribute to the very special flavour of Penderyn, which is like no other whisky in the world. Even the bottle is different from the normal whisky bottle shapes being slim and elegant and uncluttered.

The first Penderyn single malt whisky was released on St David’s Day 2004 in Cardiff. It is now available extensively in Wales and in London. Penderyn is exported round the world in small quantities as befits a distillery which produces currently only 100,000 bottles a year., making it one of the smallest distilleries in the world.
